Confused about Act 355? There's now an app about it
There is now a mobile application aimed at promoting understanding of the proposed amendments to Syariah Courts (Criminal Jurisdiction) Act 1965 (Act 355).
Titled "RUU 355", the app provides general information on the proposed amendments by PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang, a calendar of the upcoming roadshows on this matter, a collection of infographics and even a forum space to talk about the amendments, among other things.
The app, currently available only on the Google Play Store, has 37 ratings, with an aggregated rating of 4.9 stars out of five.

The developer is Ilmiah Resources, which appears to have developed one other app, called "Majlis Ilmu Pulau Pinang".

Hadi's bill aims to increase the sentencing limits for syariah courts to a maximum RM100,000 fine, maximum 30 year jail sentence and 100 lashes, up from the present maximum RM5,000 fine, maximum three years jail sentence and six lashes.
The bill is expected to be debated when the Dewan Rakyat convenes next month.
