PAS ulama chief Mahfodz Mohamed responded to Bukit Bendera MP Zairil Khir Johari by reminding the DAP leader that Muslims believe in an afterlife.

He also reminded Zairil that life does not last forever and there will be consequences in the afterlife.

He also insisted that PAS' fight, other than winning the election, is to make sure their success is blessed by Allah.

"PAS does not want to win in an underhanded way, but in a way that is blessed by Allah, which is what is taught by Islam.

"PAS not only wants votes from the public but we also take into account the afterlife.

"Muslims in DAP must also understand that our lives does not only encompass the one in this world, but also in the afterlife," he said, as reported in Utusan Malaysia.

Yesterday, Zairil had posted a blog posting where he sarcastically questioned PAS' continued presence in politics as they appeared to be more interested in talking about Allah's blessing than winning the upcoming general election.

Mahfodz added that the difference between PAS and DAP is that Zairil's party was willing to lie while they were still in the opposition coalition.

"They used to be on good terms with PAS, to the point where we formed a coalition, but when they thought they were strong enough, they rejected PAS' Islamic policies which they previously accepted.

"Because of this, I insist that PAS will not mend ties with DAP.

"Do not make a fool of PAS, we are an Islamic party till the end," he said.
