Former national football player Khairul Anuar Baharum surrendered himself to the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) today.

The MACC had been looking for him as part of investigations into match-fixing allegations involving the MISC-MIFA premier league match.

Khairul, better known as 'Ah Chong', had arrived at the MACC headquarters in Putrajaya around 10.45am today and entered the building a few minutes later with his lawyer.

The MACC had said legal action would be taken against Khairul if he did not present himself as a witness.

The anti-graft body had on April 6 held three MIFA players, including a foreigner, on suspicion of receiving bribes from a bookie and another person believed to be a bookie who offered cash inducements to the players to fix matches.

Apart from the national team, Khairul also used to play for the Perak, Kedah, Selangor and Negri Sembilan state teams.
