PAS vice-president Mohd Amar Nik Abdullah has warned that leaders in his party who side with Pakatan Harapan will be dropped as candidates in the next general election.

"Those who defy the party openly will not be nominated as candidates (in the general election).

"It's not just PAS, for any party will take the same stance. No one would nominate them," Mohd Amar told journalists in Pengkalan Chepa last night.

Mohd Amar, also known as Nik Amar, was responding to PAS leaders who attended the Amanah national congress in Kedah yesterday.

PAS has declared Amanah, its splinter party, as an enemy.

Yesterday, PAS' Pokok Sena MP Mahfuz Omar was present at the Amanah convention.

Mahfuz was joined by three other PAS state assemblypersons, namely Amiruddin Hamzah (Anak Bukit) Mohd Nasir Mustafa (Rotan) and Syed Azman Syed Nawawi (Batu Burok).

Mohd Amar also declared that PAS would offer a "better" candidate to replace Mahfuz in the 14th general election.

Mahfuz defended his attendance, stating that he was only there as an "old friend" and insisted he that he would not quit PAS.

On another matter, Mohd Amar panned Umno information chief Annuar Musa for his rhetoric on an Umno-PAS alliance.

Mohd Amar accused Annuar of trying to confuse PAS members.

"His intention is to get PAS members to go against our party.

"He wants to create suspicion so that PAS members will think that there really are negotiations with Umno," he said.

Mohd Amar stressed that such statements were only part of Annuar's psychological warfare strategy.

He pointed out that Kelantan Umno chief Mustapa Mohamed, who is the authoritative figure for Umno in the state, had clearly stated that Umno would not be cooperating with PAS.
