Former prime minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad sarcastically agreed with Selangor Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah that he would “burn the country.”

The Selangor ruler acknowledged that Mahathir and his wife Dr Siti Hasmah Mohamad Ali had returned their awards to the palace.

Siti Hasmah said she decided to return the award on her own account. and was not forced to do so by her husband.

Selangor BN leaders submitted a declaration to the Selangor palace to show solidarity with the state's ruler.

Former minister Zainuddin Maidin accused Umno-owned newspaper Utusan Malaysia of trying to sow conflict between Mahathir and Sultan Sharafuddin.

Anwar's international lawyer denied access

US lawyer Kimberley Motley said she was appalled at Deputy Prime Minister Ahmad Zahid Hamidi for denying her access to jailed client Anwar Ibrahim, who is recuperating at a hospital.

Mahathir downplayed the possibility of making a comeback as prime minister, stating that this would only be the case if the opposition was desperate and had no one else.

Sungai Besar Umno chief Jamal Md Yunos claimed DAP planned to install its member and former minister Zaid Ibrahim as Selangor menteri besar.

Selangor DAP chief Tony Pua dismissed the claim as "fake news".

MPs claim widespread DBKL land sale without open tender

Pakatan Harapan MPs claimed that the Kuala Lumpur City Hall has sold some 45 plots of land without open tender since Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor became the Federal Territories Minister.

The trial of three PKR leaders under the Peaceful Assembly Act 2012 for participating in the Kita Lawan rally was put on hold, pending the disposal of a similar case involving activist Adam Adli Abdul Halim, who is mounting a constitutional challenge.

The High Court in Kuala Lumpur will hear Subang MP R Sivarasa's constitutional challenge against Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act.
