Guan Eng: MCMC raid on Nga an 'act of intimidation'

DAP secretary-general Lim Guan Eng has described the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission's (MCMC) raid on his party's MP in Taiping as 'arbitrary and an high-ended abuse of power'.

Condemning the act against the Perak DAP chief Nga Kor Ming, Lim pointed out that freedom from censorship was based on the Multimedia Super Corridor's International Bill of Rights which was guaranteed for all Malaysian Internet users.

The Penang chief minister also deemed the latest move by MCMC as an 'act of intimidation against DAP leaders'.

"They raided not only his service centre but his house as well, including his parents' house. Is that necessary? This is so serious," Lim said after handing over RM30,000 in aid to the Burma Road Tow Boo Kong temple committee in Georgetown today...
