A Kampung Siburan resident who did not have a direct connection to the Sarawak Energy Board (SEB) utility line for years and was forced to tap her neighbour’s power supply all this while, is now thankful to SUPP for bringing “brighter days” to her household.

Fellow residents of Siburan, which is about 25km away from Kuching and which comes under the federal constituency of Mambong, brought her plight to the attention of the SUPP Mambong youth chief Andrew Victor Nub who acted immediately.

In an impromptu visit to Chee’s residence (above) recently, Andrew was informed that the family had been waiting for power supply for too long and that it was the only house which did not have direct electricity supply.

Andrew raised the issue with the SEB Siburan office after which the board inspected and installed the supply cable promptly.

The resident, Chee Lina, expressed her gratitude to Andrew for helping to resolve her family’s predicament.

“Our house was the only one without direct power supply in Siburan. It’s so great to get it after a long wait,” she said.

Andrew, who is also SUPP central deputy youth chief, said in a statement:

“SUPP has always opened their doors to listen to public issues and that is why SUPP’s “mobile service centre” was introduced by the party president as he realises the need to have a mechanism in order to continue to serve the people effectively for better living conditions.
