KINI ROUNDUP | Here are the key headlines you may have missed yesterday, in brief.

Redelineation gazetted, NGO says its 'tragic'

The Election Commission’s (EC) controversial constituency redelineation report passed by the Dewan Rakyat on Wednesday has been gazetted as law.

Human rights NGO Pusat Komas called the redelineation exercise for the 14th general election (GE14), a racial tragedy waiting to happen, by causing split among the races in the country.

Malindo Airways became the second airline to assist Malaysian customers whose travel plans coincide with the date of GE14 when it is announced, by offering to waive rebooking fees for their journeys.

Earlier, the Hong Kong-based Cathay Pacific rebutted an accusation by Deputy Home Minister Nur Jazlan Mohamed that its offer to assist customers was intended to effect a regime change in Malaysia, saying it was just "good customer service."

In reply, Nur Jazlan questioned if that was the case, would similar offers apply to major festival seasons in Malaysia, and for voters in other countries during their general elections.

Rafidah slams Umno lawmakers

Former cabinet minister Rafidah Abdul Aziz slammed Umno supreme council member Nazri Abdul Aziz and party information chief Annuar Musa for their remarks about her criticising the government.

Earlier, Nazri, who is also culture and tourism minister, said Rafidah was an " old woman who rants too much" while Annuar said on Wednesday that Rafidah had an ulterior motive in criticising the current administration.

Luxury yacht Equanimity, the seizure of which Rafidah had been very vocal about, was "visible" to anyone with an internet access, said the lawyer representing the vessel's claimants, in dismissing claims that the vessel's crew had switched off its identification system to evade detection.

The lawyer, Naeun Rim, also cast doubts on whether the US Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) had properly executed the warrant to "arrest" the vessel, which was seized in Bali by the bureau and Indonesian authorities late last month.

The owner of the company that operates the Equanimity said the US Department of Justice (DOJ) did not appreciate the value and scale of the vessel, in reply to (DOJ's) plan to sell the 1MDB-linked vessel Equanimity in the US.
