KINI ROUNDUP | Here are the key headlines you may have missed yesterday, in brief.

Najib mocks Guan Eng

Caretaker prime minister Najib Abdul Razak took a swipe at caretaker Penang chief minister Lim Guan Eng in a tweet, saying he was in the state earlier in the day to see the blue (BN) wave, and not to see "bungalow or unfinished tunnel, in reference to the latter's scandals.

Earlier in his speech in Balik Pulau, Najib also mocked Pakatan Harapan chairperson Dr Mahathir Mohamad for the latter's denial that he had jailed opposition leaders during his 22 years in power, and raised the "black eye" incident involving PKR supremo Anwar Ibrahim.

The BN chairperson also defended the 1Malaysia People's Aid (BR1M), saying Harapan, despite earlier criticising the government aid for the people, has also included BR1M in its own manifesto.

According to Najib, international businesses have shown "great confidence" in Malaysia's economy since the implementation of the National Transformation Programme (NTP).

Meanwhile, Anwar, who is currently serving a five-year jail term for sodomy, asked why Umno is fearing his partnership with his nemesis-turned-ally Mahathir.
