Stampin PKR Youth deputy chief Jefferey Mok has been urged to lodge a report against SUPP over allegations that the party received RM1 million ringgit from former Prime Minister Najib Razak prior to the 2013 general election.

Speaking to Malaysiakini today, SUPP central youth chief Michael Tiang said Mok must not resort to making blind accusations through the media, as the right thing to do would be to lodge an official complaint with the MACC.

“I am willing to personally assist if the MACC proceeds to initiate investigations on the alleged corruption, following PKR’s official complaint to the anti-graft agency,” he said.

At a press conference in Kuching yesterday Mok accused SUPP of receiving RM500,000 from Najib on Feb 9, 2012, and another RM500,000 a year later.

Mok has also asked the MACC to initiate an investigation to find out if the amount allegedly given is connected to the 1MDB scandal.

He had pointed out the two cheques carry the same bank account number, through which Najib had received the so-called donation from a Saudi prince.

However, Tiang stressed that complaints of corruption allegations must be made through proper channels.

“Make a complaint through the proper channels. Do not make such allegations at press conferences and social media against any party over such corruption allegations.

“SUPP is against any form of corrupt practice and whoever is responsible must face the full force of the law.

“Since Harapan has taken over Putrajaya, SUPP together with all Malaysians have high hopes that the MACC will carry out their duties efficiently and professionally so that the ugly scourge of corruption can be eradicated in the country," Tiang said.

Tiang , who is also political secretary to Chief Minister Abang Johari Abang Openg, said by resorting to make such allegations at a press conference instead of complaining to the authorities, Mok has failed to discharge his duty as a responsible citizen.
