Jasin Umno Wanita chief Zaleha Bujang announced that she will donate a piece of her jewellery to help former prime minister Najib Abdul Razak with his legal fees.

In a video uploaded to her Facebook page, Zaleha said her bangle will go towards the fund set up yesterday to help with Najib's bail money.

"On this Friday morning, I would like to give up this bangle which I am wearing, which I love, for the Tabung Datuk Seri Najib Razak.

"May Allah protect Najib from attempts to victimise him," she said in the video as her peers cheered her on.

She also captioned the video as follows: "For the beloved party Umno, a donation for Tabung Najib".

Meanwhile, Najib in a Twitter posting said he was touched by Zaleha's gesture.

"I am very touched by Jasin Umno Wanita chief Zaleha's willingness to sacrificed her favourite bangle for the fund to aid in my bail," said his tweet.

Yesterday, a group of Najib supporters dubbed "Solidariti Bersama Datuk Najib" launched the fund for him (above) at his residence in Kuala Lumpur.

The group spokesperson, Mohd Razlan Muhammad Rafii, said this was in light of Najib not being able to raise the full amount for his bail.

The fund hit RM204,393 as of 3.30pm today.

Najib was on Wednesday charged with three counts of criminal breach of trust and one count of abuse of power in relation to transactions involving SRC International Sdn Bhd, a former 1MDB subsidiary.

Najib pleaded not guilty to all charges.

The Kuala Lumpur High Court allowed Najib to pay the RM1 million bail in two parts.

Najib paid RM500,000 in cash on the same day and his lawyer promised the former prime minister will pay the remaining RM500,000 on Monday.
