100 DAYS | With Pakatan Harapan's first 100 days in office near a close, Rembau MP Khairy Jamaluddin has urged his colleagues in Umno and BN to find a fresh narrative to combat the government.

"Umno-BN need a new direction, the leaders must be ahead of the curve of change.

"100 days are over. It's time to think of 'what's next?' Not peddling the narrative of unfulfilled promises. That's done, move on," Khairy said on Twitter today.

Harapan outlined a 10-point manifesto for its first 100 days in office, of which it managed to fulfil two promises, and partially, five.

Khairy said the people didn't really care about the manifesto and they voted for Harapan in the 14th general election just to get rid of BN.

Forging ahead, Khairy said he is in talks with former international trade and industry minister Mustapa Mohamed and other BN lawmakers to begin crafting an alternative budget to be presented when Harapan tables its first budget as the government.

"At least the people can evaluate the policies and proposals of both sides. The debate is also more objective because there is a reference to two different choices on how to manage the economy," he added.

The Harapan government is expected to table its first national budget on Nov 2.
