More drug rehab centres to be set up in Sabah - Azis

More Cure and Care Rehabilitation Centres (CCRC), including specifically for women, would be set up in Sabah to curb drug addiction in the state, said Deputy Home Minister Mohd Azis Jamman.

He said the new centres would also accommodate the growing number of residents at the centre in Papar.

The CCRC in Papar, which currently accommodating about 400 residents, has the capacity to accommodate only 250 residents.

He told reporters after participating in an anti-drug operation dubbed ‘Ops Khas Adu’ in Sepanggar near Kota Kinabalu early today.

A total of 36 drug addicts, aged between 15 and 51, were detained in the operation, carried out from 10 pm to 1 am.
