PKR POLLS | New dates set for the PKR leadership elections will see it ending only on Nov 10, two weeks later than what the central elections committee (JPP) initially planned for.

Elections in Perlis and Perak, originally scheduled for Sept 23, will be held on Oct 21 and Oct 27 respectively.

Elections in Kedah, which was held on Sept 22 but later invalidated, will now take place over two days, on Oct 26 and 27.

Elections in Sarawak, originally scheduled for Oct 27 and 28, have been postponed to Nov 10.

Interestingly, the postponement sees only one day allocated for Sarawak, which has a significantly challenging terrain.

Back in August, the JPP had initially set Oct 28 as the last day of the nationwide party elections, making it a six-week affair. Now, it is to take place over eight weekends.

The elections were supposed to be followed by the PKR national congress. At the time of writing, it is uncertain where and when the congress will be held.
