Sabah police have denied that Raymond Ahuar, political secretary to Deputy Sabah Chief Minister Christina Liew, was involved in the rape of two Indonesian women.

Bernama quoted state police commissioner Omar Mammah (above) as saying cops have already arrested a 31-year-old suspect in Keningau and urged the public not to spread fake news.

He was responding to claims being spread on social media alleging that the PKR leader was involved in the crime. The claim comes amidst the ongoing PKR elections in which Raymond is contesting for the PKR Youth deputy chief's post.

"We ask all quarters not to spread false news and to stop making speculations," Omar was quoted as saying.

A police report was lodged by the two Indonesian women aged 23 and 26 on Sept 25 at the Keningau district police headquarters.

Raymond had also lodged a police report last Friday after allegations emerged on social media accusing him as being the rapist.
