A mother of two is mulling suing PKR lawmaker S Kesavan for defamation, after the latter accused her of being smitten with him and wanting to wreck his marriage.
The woman, who wished to be identified only as Ammu, said she would like to provide the Sungai Siput MP with an avenue to prove his allegations.
“Then we will know who is telling the truth. I have contacted my lawyer. We are still in the process of discussing the matter.
"I expect to file the suit against him soon,” the 47-year-old law graduate told Malaysiakini.
Contacted later, an unfazed Kesavan said he is prepared to face the matter in court.
“She can file the suit. I am prepared to face it,” he told Malaysiakini.
On May 17, Malaysiakini reported that the woman, who is also the former Sungai Siput PKR division treasurer, had filed a police report accusing Kesavan of sexual harassment.
This came after Kesavan filed a police report claiming the woman subjected him to mental torture and trauma.
After news of the police reports broke, the MP issued a media statement claiming that he became depressed after the woman attempted to call him numerous times and threatened to humiliate him.
"Since a month and a half ago, she started to call me numerous times every day. She also complained to other PKR leaders such as (vice-president) Rafizi (Ramli) because I distanced myself (from her).
"She threatened to expose a recording to humiliate me and told me to 'go die'," he had said.
Kesavan said if he had sexually harassed the woman as claimed, there was no reason for her to keep calling him.
“She also called my wife," he added, describing the woman as a volunteer and not an aide as reported.
Subsequently, the woman denied Kesavan's claims.
“My first question to him: if it is true that I had offered myself as a volunteer, why did he have to come and look for me in Puchong?
"He came and stayed at Hotel Sri Puchong just to see me," she said, adding that they did not meet as she was feeling unwell.
According to the woman, her husband and another mutual contact met the lawmaker.
“I challenge him to deny that he came to Puchong to see me," she added.
In her earlier police report, the woman claimed Kesavan often made video calls to her and showed her pornographic material, as well as the Kamasutra.
According to her, the sexual harassment started after she began working for the MP following the 14th general election and the latest incident occurred last month.
The woman said she had complained to her husband about the alleged harassment and tendered her resignation.
“The MP met me and my husband and apologised. He promised not to repeat his actions. But it (sexual harassment) did not stop,” she alleged.
