Police will summon more individuals to assist in their investigation into the four-day systems outage in KLIA two weeks ago.

"The investigation is still underway. We will call a few individuals to assist the probe," KLIA police chief Zulkifli Adamshah was quoted as saying by Sinar Harian.

"The process is going to take time in terms of technical and other aspects."

According to Bernama, Zulkifli said a total of twelve Malaysia Airports Holdings Berhad (MAHB) staff members have had their statements recorded.

He also reportedly said that the report of the investigations would be forwarded to Selangor Police chief for further action.

The KLIA systems disruption began on the night of Aug 21, and resulted in 68 flights being delayed as of 10pm the next day.

On Aug 22, Transport Minister Anthony Loke apologised for the flight delays and demanded an explanation from MAHB.

Four days later, the airport operator said it did not rule out the possibility of sabotage.

This immediately prompted the Transport Ministry to announce the establishment of a committee to investigate the failure of KLIA's Total Airport Management System (Tams).

Loke later called on all parties, including the airport operator, to cease speculation and let the police and the committee probe the systems outage.
