Ahmad Maslan is new Umno sec-gen

Ahmad Maslan has been appointed the new secretary-general of Umno.

He will be taking over from Annuar Musa, who was appointed as the federal territories minister on Monday.

This was announced during the Umno supreme council meeting this afternoon.

The council also decided that Umno Youth deputy head Sharil Hamdan will be the party's new information chief.

Sharil will replace Syamsyul Anuar Nasarah, who was made energy and natural resources minister.

Meanwhile, Tangga Batu Umno division youth chief Rais Yasin has been appointed to the party's supreme council.
