M'sian-born, Birmingham-based doctor succumbs to Covid-19
The Birmingham Women’s Hospital is mourning the loss of consultant neonatologist Dr Vishna Rasiah who succumbed to Covid-19 on Thursday.
Dr Rasiah who was born in 1971, was known to his friends as Vish, was a Malaysian who attended the St John's Institution school in KL.

Dr Rasiah who was born in 1971, was known to his friends as Vish, was a Malaysian who attended the St John's Institution school in KL.
He was highly-regarded across the Midlands in his role as Clinical Lead for the regional Neonatal network.
According to the website of the Birmingham Women's and Children Trust Foundation, its chief executive Sarah-Jane Marsh said:
“Vish was an amazing doctor, leader, colleague and friend passionate about the care of babies and their families.
"Losing him in such a cruel and unfair way will be too much to bear for many of us, in particular anyone involved in neonatal care, and of course his beautiful wife and daughter.
“As our tears flow, we must always remember the values that Vish stood for and hold his vision, courage and compassion in our hearts. God bless you Vish, and may you rest in peace.”
Rasiah's wife Liza told the website: “We’re devastated at losing our beloved Vish. He was such a loving husband and father to our beautiful daughter Katelyn, and much loved son and brother to our family in Malaysia and Trinidad.
"His whole family meant the world to him, and he absolutely doted on Katelyn.
“Vish loved his work [...] and treated every patient and family he cared for as his own; I couldn’t have been prouder of him," she added.
According to the latest statistics, 19,506 people have died in the UK due to the Covid-19 outbreak which has claimed close to 200,000 lives around the world.
