Investigation paper on fake news about Guan Eng's son arrest now with AGC
Police have completed their investigation paper on false allegations that Lim Guan Eng's (Harapan-Bagan) son had been arrested in February for attempting to bring in RM2 million into Singapore without proper verification.
In a written reply to Lim yesterday, the Home Ministry said the investigation paper had been submitted to the Attorney-General's Chambers on May 13.

The case is being investigated under Section 505(b) of the Penal Code, and for statements that cause public alarm, and Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act for improper network use.
The Home Ministry was replying to a question from Lim, on what actions have been taken against an Umno leader who had spread the fake news.
Lim is believed to be referring to Umno Youth exco member Wan Muhammad Azri Wan Deris, better known as Papagomo.
The DAP secretary-general has threatened to sue the Wan Muhamamd Azri.
Inspector-General of Police Hamid Bador had said that news of Lim's son being arrested, which spread in March, was false.
Meanwhile, in a separate written reply, the Home Ministry said investigation papers on controversial preacher Muhammad Zamri Vinoth Kalimuthu for allegedly insulting Hindus, was also with the AGC.
There were three investigation papers, and the probe was carried out under Section 4(1) of the Sedition Act, Sections 298A and 504 of the Penal Code, and Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act.
However, the AGC had previously in July 2019, said it would not be pressing charges against Zamri Vinoth for allegedly insulting Hindus.
The preacher, who is a student of Zakir Naik, had been arrested in April 2019 after uploading a sermon which was deemed to have insulted Hindus.
It is not clear if the investigation papers mentioned by the Home Ministry yesterday are separate ones that are still being considered.
