Former national unity minister Zaleha Ismail has passed away at the age of 84.

The Umno veteran died at around 8.34pm at the Tawakal Hospital in Kuala Lumpur.

Her funeral is expected to be held tomorrow morning.

Zaleha held the national unity and community development portfolio from 1995 to 1999.
