Sarawak PKR has unveiled its own manifesto for the state polls.
The move is in contrast to the recently concluded Malacca polls where Pakatan Harapan component parties released a joint manifesto as a coalition.
Acting Sarawak PKR chief Abang Zulkifli Abang Engkeh (above), in a statement, said the manifesto called "Prosper with Justice (Makmur Bersama Keadilan) will focus on six cores.
He said the first core is improving the quality of life and wellbeing of Sarawakians, particularly the rural community.
The second core will revolve around the economy and generating job opportunities as well as reviving the tourism industry and supporting small and medium enterprises.
"A key focus will also be the development of the agriculture, livestock, and fisheries industry," he said.
He also touted a modern rural agriculture development plan which will provide land to the landless to carry out agriculture and create job opportunities.
He said the third core will be on reforming basic infrastructure including ensuring the supply of water, electricity, and internet across the state.
The fourth core will be on education, particularly on upgrading rundown schools while the fifth core is on the environment, including a pledge to end mega hydroelectric projects.
The last core will focus on reforming the civil service, including mobile services in rural areas.
The unveiling of PKR's manifesto came amid a dispute with its coalition partner ahead of the Sarawak polls on Dec 18. The nomination day is on Dec 6.
DAP maintained that seat negotiations with PKR had concluded in January but the state PKR claims the agreement was "null and void" following the departure of its chief Larry Sng. Sng quit PKR in late February.
On Jan 2, 2021, Sarawak Harapan agreed that PKR would contest 47 seats, DAP 26, and Amanah nine. The agreement was signed by Sng, Sarawak DAP chief Chong Chieng Jen, and Sarawak Amanah chief Abang Abdul Halil Abang Naili.
However, PKR and DAP now face the possibility of clashing, similar to the 2016 Sarawak polls.
The Harapan parties have also decided to use their own party logos in the state election.
