JOHOR POLLS | DAP secretary-general Lim Guan Eng has welcomed Johor PKR's non-retaliation against Muda's decision to field the party's candidate in Larkin and going against a larger plan for a united opposition.
Lim said PKR's move should be appreciated and the time has come for Harapan and Muda to put their own interest aside against BN and Perikatan Nasional.
"We are disappointed that all seats could be resolved except for one.
"However, we must appreciate what PKR has done in not retaliating against Muda for contesting (against PKR) in Larkin," said Lim at a press conference alongside Southern Johor Harapan candidates in Taman Pelangi, Stulang.
“That (non-retaliation) must be put on record and appreciated. This is in line with Harapan’s big tent spirit," said Lim.

Lim said this when asked for comments on Amanah communications director Khalid Samad's statement that the party's machinery would be supporting its Harapan coalition partner in any clashing seats not initially allocated to Muda.
As for DAP, Lim said the party will back candidates that has the most chance of winning against BN or PN.
"DAP has done their responsibility, we do not pass judgement on others,” he said.
Johor PKR chief Syed Ibrahim Noh had said the party will not retaliate against Muda out of respect for DAP and Amanah, despite unhappiness from among its grassroots.
Muda is fielding the party's Johor information chief Rasid Abu Bakar as its candidate for Larkin, going up against PKR's Dr Zamil Najwah Arbain and four others from BN, PN, Pejuang and an Independent.
