PBM confirms receiving Zuraida's membership application
Parti Bangsa Malaysia (PBM) has confirmed receiving a membership application from Ampang MP Zuraida Kamaruddin, several hours after she announced her exit from Bersatu.

Parti Bangsa Malaysia (PBM) has confirmed receiving a membership application from Ampang MP Zuraida Kamaruddin, several hours after she announced her exit from Bersatu.
In a statement today, PBM secretary-general Nor Hizwan Ahmad welcomed Zuraida's entry and said her application will be subject to due processes, including discussions with the party's Supreme Council.
"On behalf of Parti Bangsa Malaysia, we are very proud and honoured as Zuraida is a dedicated and credible MP with an excellent track record as a leader who is close to those at the grassroots.
"The results (of her application) will be notified shortly thereafter.
"This further strengthens our confidence that the multi-racial party's six core pillars continue to be well received by those from various levels in the country and further boosts our spirit to continue working hard for Bangsa Malaysia," said Hizwan, a former aide to Zuraida.
Earlier today, Zuraida confirmed her exit from Bersatu but maintained that she will remain supportive of Prime Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob.
In a statement, she said she decided to join PBM because of its principles of multiracial engagement, women empowerment, youth empowerment, economic development, education, and the advancement of science and technology as elements to make Malaysia a developed country.
"I see a lot of potential in PBM, especially at a time when Malaysians are tired of the old politics, which stifle the progress of the country," she said.
PBM was launched on Dec 21 last year and is headed by Julau MP Larry Sng. With Zuraida's entry to the party, PBM currently has three MPs and two state assemblypersons.
Speculations have been rife on Zuraida's departure from Bersatu since late last year, along with rumours of her fallout with the party leadership.
These speculations intensified after many members from Penggerak Komuniti Negara - an association led by Zuraida's known associates - officially joined PBM.
