COVID-19 | The Health Ministry reported 1,518 new daily Covid-19 cases yesterday.

Active cases currently stood at 21,589, down 14.3 percent compared to 14 days ago.

New cases according to states are as follows:

Another six deaths attributed to Covid-19 were reported yesterday, of which three were declared as "brought in dead".

These deaths were reported in Perak (2), Selangor (2), Kedah (1) and Negeri Sembilan (1).

Since the start of the pandemic in March 2020, a total of 35,705 deaths have been attributed to Covid-19.

There have been 29 reported Covid-19 deaths this month. For comparison, there were 129 deaths last month and 564 deaths in April.

There are 941 Covid-19 patients who are hospitalised of which 26 are in intensive care.

The highest number of admissions yesterday was recorded in Selangor (148) followed by Johor (101) and Sabah (65).
