Bersatu information chief Wan Saiful Wan Jan has called for Umno president Ahmad Zahid Hamidi to quit politics for causing political unrest and failed to make any contribution to the country.
This come after the former deputy prime minister told the Ismail Sabri Yaakob-administration to dissolve the 'failed' National Recovery Council (NRC) led by Muhyiddin Yassin.
In a statement today, Wan Saiful (above, left) asked if anyone could remember Zahid's legacy after he named a slew of contributions by Muhyiddin.
"Muhyiddin demonstrated his leadership quality when he came forward to lead the country in the face of the health crisis, political crisis ad economic crisis. Managing three crises simultaneously requires different leadership," he said.
"While Muhyiddin was struggling to resolve problems faced by the people, does anyone remember what benefit Zahid has done for the people?
"So, what is the real benefit of having a human being named Zahid in today's political scenario? Most obviously, he is the mastermind behind the political instability of the country. He is the mastermind behind 15 Umno MPs betraying their own government.
"He is the mastermind behind the pressure faced by Prime Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob today. He is the mastermind who is a coward in facing the party polls.
"Zahid is the mastermind who will continue to conspire as he is desperate to become the prime minister. Does anyone believe that Zahid will not grab power from Ismail Sabri? It is stupid to even trust that Zahid will defend Ismail Sabri," Wan Saiful added.

He also noted that Zahid would continue to tarnish Muhyiddin's credibility as long as the former prime minister is regarded as a statesman.
Zahid has become a liability because he only focuses on creating instability, Wan Saiful said.
"You (Zahid) only want to tarnish the character of a statesman. It is better for you to retire so that stability will return to the country," he said.
Last Thursday, Zahid said the NRC is no longer relevant as it was established as a platform for Muhyiddin.
Zahid said: "The NRC was only given to Muhyiddin to boost his image and his party... The NRC has failed. It is time to abolish this council and free the government officials from attending NRC meetings that are ineffective.
“I advise Muhyiddin to use other platforms to contribute ideas as a former prime minister, such as through the Perdana Leadership Foundation alongside Dr Mahathir Mohamad.”
Zahid said this in response to the June 29 formation of the Inflation Jihad Task Force led by Communications and Multimedia Minister Annuar Musa.
