The MACC has raided the Shah Alam City Council (MBSA), believed to be regarding a flood barrier project.
Shah Alam Mayor Zamani Ahmad Mansor confirmed the raid took place on Monday (Sept 19).
“Yes (MACC raided MBSA). We will wait for the MACC report as we don’t want to get the facts wrong,” he told Malaysiakini when contacted.
Meanwhile, MACC senior director of investigation Hishamuddin Hashim told Malaysiakini that three arrests have been made following the raid.
The suspects have been remanded for seven days to facilitate investigations, he added.
A PKR lawmaker who refused to be identified told Malaysiakini that the raid is linked to a flood barrier project.
However, at press time, no further details are available.
