Perak PAS aims to field 20 candidates

Perak PAS will field 20 candidates during the upcoming Perak legislative assembly election, down from 43 in 2018.

State PAS head Razman Zakaria (above) said Perikatan Nasional allies Bersatu will also field 20 candidates.

The remaining 19 candidates will come from the supporters’ wing of both parties.

"Perak PAS has decided that we will prepare for the election as PN. If polls are called tomorrow, we can proceed (to campaign as PN).

"However, Perak PAS will heed instructions from the headquarters. If we are instructed otherwise, we must follow it," Razman told a fundraising dinner in Ipoh last night, according to Sinar Harian.

He said Perak PAS wanted to use the PN logo during the next election and party president Abdul Hadi Awang has been informed.

However, Razman added, the final word on the matter lies with the party headquarters.

Also present at the fundraiser were PAS spiritual leader Hashim Jasin and Perak PN chief Ahmad Faizal Azumu.

During the 2018 election, PAS won three seats in the Perak legislative assembly.
