'I don't want to go to Hell’ – Faizal on Parliament dissolution talks

Youth and Sports Minister Ahmad Faizal Azumu refused to divulge details on cabinet discussions to the public, saying he did not want to “go to Hell”.

According to him, he has sworn in the name of Allah, before the Yang di-Pertuan Agong, that he would not mention what was discussed in the cabinet meetings.

"If I reveal it, I will go to Hell. I don't want to go to Hell.

"Those who take bribes, abuse their power and swear by the name of Allah (will enter Hell), and I don't want to follow them," said Faizal (above).

The Bersatu deputy president said this at a press conference after the official launching of the National Sports Day 2022 in Putrajaya, today, reported Berita Harian.

Faizal was responding to a question on whether the Parliament dissolution was discussed in the cabinet meeting yesterday.

Faizal was also asked to respond to Umno secretary-general Ahmad Maslan's remark that it was inappropriate for 12 ministers from Perikatan Nasional (PN) to send a petition to the Agong to object against any move to hold the 15th general election (GE15) this year.

The minister downplayed Ahmad's concern, saying it was the PN ministers’ way of relaying their concern to the Agong.

"This is a democratic country. We felt that we needed to convey our concerns to His Majesty.

"While some disagreed (with the petition move), there were also those who agreed.

“So there is no need to squabble. I respect him (Ahmad) and I believe everyone is entitled to their own opinion,” said Faizal.
