Hold Bugaya by-election during GE15 – Warisan
Warisan president Mohd Shafie Apdal has suggested that the Bugaya state by-election in Sabah be held together with the 15th general election (GE15).
He said this would save costs in conducting the by-election.

"We have identified several prospective candidates, including for Batu Sapi (parliamentary seat). We are ready for the by-elections," he told a press conference today.
However, Shafie (above), who is also Semporna MP, said it was up to the Election Commission to fix the election dates to fill the vacancy in Bugaya.
The Bugaya seat fell vacant after its representative, Manis Muka Mohd Darah of Warisan, died of kidney disease on Nov 17, 2020.
Last Thursday, the Yang di-Pertuan Agong revoked six Covid-19 emergency ordinances and proclamations which had prevented by-elections from being held for the Batu Sapi and Gerik parliamentary seats, and the Bugaya state seat.
On Budget 2023, Shafie said although it is the largest ever in the country’s history, the RM6.3 billion in allocation for Sabah was insufficient, especially for development expenditure.

Yes, Batu Sapi in Sandakan is a Chinese majority seat which will see DAP lose badly to Warisan in GE15 - previously DAP could not even beat BN candidates in Batu Sapi. Former DAP leader Charles Chong, now with Warisan, is Sandakan strongman and can beat any DAP candidates hand down especially with the solid support from Warisan’s Muslims base there. The 3 Wongs - Jimmy, Justin and Junz - all formerly DAP leaders now with Warisan are the most outstanding Chinese political leaders in Sabah and they will make sure that DAP pack their bags in Sandakan and even Kota Kinabalu, not to mention Tawau the stronghold of Jimmy and son Justin. Ronnie Liu is also expected to lend his hand to Warisan to win in Batu Sapi. It is very naive for DAP to think that people like Ronnie has no support at all and can be unfairly treated at the whim and fancy of DAP national leaders. Indeed Warisan is leading the Third Force which offers a fresh alternative to the voters in Malaysia. Warisan looks and sounds more energetic and give more confidence to voters and never use flood to cover its fear of facing GE15.
