GE15 | Over 1,000 candidates are expected to submit their nomination papers to contest the 222 parliamentary and 116 state seats in Perak, Pahang and Perlis, and one by-election in Bugaya, Sabah.

The general election this time sees only the three states - Perlis, Perak and Pahang - all of which are under BN, having their state elections held concurrently with the federal polls.

Other states led by PAS (Kelantan, Terengganu and Kedah) and Pakatan Harapan (Selangor, Penang and Negeri Sembilan) did not dissolve their respective state legislatures - while Sabah, Sarawak, Malacca and Johor already had their state elections between 2020 and this year.
