Flash flood warning: 6 states, KL at risk in next 24 hours

The National Disaster Management Agency (Nadma) this evening published a list of multiple locations in six states and a federal territory that may be hit by flash floods in the next 24 hours.

“There is a risk that flash floods would occur at locations listed here, should they experience significant amounts of heavy rain or thunderstorms,” the statement read.

According to a tweet by the agency, the list was prepared by the Drainage and Irrigation Department (DID) and was based on forecasts by the Meteorology Department’s Numerical Weather Prediction model and the Southeastern Asia-Oceania Flash Flood Guidance System.

The list consists of locations in:

1. Selangor - Gombak, Petaling, Kuala Selangor, and Sepang

2. Negeri Sembilan - Jelebu, Rembau, and Seremban

3. Johor - Batu Pahat, Muar, Segamat, and Tangkak

4. Malacca - Alor Gajah and Jasin

5. Kedah - Kuala Muda

6. Sarawak - Kuching

For Kuala Lumpur, the statement listed 48 locations, including PWTC, Universiti Malaya, Jalan Duta, Jalan Dang Wangi, LRT Bangsar, and Kampung Pantai Dalam.

2. Dec 7-12 and Dec 22-26

3. Jan 6-10 and Jan 21-25
