Selangor PKR refutes claim MB has personal interests in RM700m project

Selangor PKR today refuted an allegation that Menteri Besar Amirudin Shari has personal interests in a company that was awarded a contract worth RM700 million by the state government.

This comes following recent attacks by several political parties against Amirudin for being listed as one of the directors of Landasan Lumayan Berjaya Sdn Bhd (LLB), a subsidiary of Landasan Lumayan Sdn Bhd that is undertaking a project called Selangor Maritime Gateway worth RM700 million.

Selangor PKR deputy communications director Adzman Kamaruddin said Landasan Lumayan is wholly owned by the Selangor state government's Menteri Besar Incorporated (MBI).

Thus, he said, Amirudin (above) and state exco member Izham Hashim are on the board of LLB by virtue of their positions in the state government.

"Both Amirudin and Izham are on LLB's board of directors to represent the interests of MBI and the state government," he added.

Yesterday, Green Party secretary-general Abdul Razak Ismail was quoted by a news portal alleging that Amirudin and Izham had interests in the company.

Following this, the Selangor Perikatan Nasional chapter lodged a police report in Serdang this afternoon urging the authority to investigate Amirudin.

Adzman, in his statement, also lambasted those who accused Amirudin and Izham, saying that they should check their facts.

"They should do their research first and think clearly before making such an ill-intended political statement which tarnishes the good name of others and can open them to legal suit," he said.
