Muhyiddin arrives in court, supporters cry 'malicious intent'

Bersatu president Muhyiddin Yassin has arrived at the Kuala Lumpur court complex where he is expected to face multiple corruption charges today.

Muhyiddin arrived at 8.40am and was greeted by a hundred supporters, some carrying placards which read "malicious intent" and "kerajaan gagal" (failed government).

Many of those supporters were seen donning white t-shirts with Muhyiddin's photo on it and the phrase "rakyat bersama abah" (The people are with Muhyiddin).

He is expected to face charges under the MACC Act 2009 and Section 4(1)b of the Anti-Money Laundering, Anti-Terrorism Financing, and Proceeds of Unlawful Activities Act 2001.

Top Bersatu leaders were also spotted in the vicinity.

They include Bersatu deputy president Ahmad Faizal Azumu, information chief Razali Idris, women's chief Mas Ermieyati Samsudin, former Dewan Rakyat deputy speaker Rashid Hasnon and Bersatu Youth information chief Mohd Ashraf Mustaqim Badrul Munir.

Police officers and personnel were present in the vicinity to manage the traffic flow and crowd control.

Yesterday, Muhyiddin was questioned for more than nine hours at the MACC headquarters in Putrajaya.

The former premier was detained but later let off on bail to be present in court this morning.
