No one has the right to question Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim’s decision to invite PAS into the federal government, said MCA president Wee Ka Siong.

In a statement, the BN leader stressed it is Anwar’s right as the prime minister to bring any political party on board and decide on his cabinet.

“As the prime minister, Anwar has the right to invite any political party to join the government, and he has the right to form the cabinet and change any of his cabinet ministers.

“No one has the right to question his decision.

“The prime minister’s invitation to PAS to join the unity government only proved one thing - ‘in politics, there are no permanent enemies’, and politics is the art of making the impossible possible,” he said on Facebook last night.

Wee (above) posted the statement in response to media queries regarding a news article by Time magazine, where Anwar said in an interview with the international news agency that he invited PAS to join the government.

Wee added that he would not be surprised if PAS will work with PKR and DAP again given their previous cooperation.

However, he added, the media should direct their questions on the matter to Anwar, PAS, and DAP for a “more satisfying answer”.
