A DAP member has filed a police report against Kelab Penyokong Maya Umno (KPMU) over an articled posted on its website.

The report was filed by Tony Pua, the economic adviser to DAP secretary-general Lim Guan Eng with the Damansara police station yesterday.

According to Pua, the content of the article, titled Riwayat Raja Petra II , had insulted Christians and Christianity.

"Police must arrest the writer, editor, publisher and the owner of the website and investigate them under the Sedition Act," he told a press conference in Petaling Jaya today.

A copy of the police report, which was made available to malaysiakini, named Siddiq Akmal Ismail as the editor of the website.

In the report, Pua said the writer had accused Christians of worshiping a "fake and non-existent" god.

The article also described Christians as "drunkards who are intent on wiping out the Malay community and that they are wild and deviant."

'Create racial tension'

"The above allegations are baseless, and the article is published with the intention to insult Christians and to create anger and racial tension," said Pua.

"If investigations against Raja Petra (Kamarudin), who allegedly committed the same crime by insulting Islam and the King, we hope the police will act equally fast in investigating this matter," he added.

Puah said he is not expecting the police to investigate every internet posting when a police report is lodged but stressed that there should be no double standards.

He also urged KPMU to remove the article and tender an apology to all Christians and Malaysians in general.

Commenting on Raja Petra's wife, Marina Lee Abdullah , being called for questioning by the police this morning, Pua said it was an act of intimidation.

Asked on the police report filed against Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi's official website for posting a seditious comment, Pua replied: "We haven't heard anything on that case. But at least it (the article) is removed."

"If nothing comes up in the near future, our (DAP) parliamentarians will raise the matter in Parliament," he said.
