Cops arrest priest over alleged sexual assault of 13-year-old boy in church

Police have arrested a priest over an alleged sexual assault of a 13-year-old boy in Subang, Selangor.

Subang Jaya police chief Wan Azlan Wan Mamat said the 27-year-old local man was nabbed at a restaurant in Puchong yesterday, following a complaint by the victim the day before.

"On Aug 12, around 10pm, the Subang Jaya police received a police report from a 13-year-old male victim.

"The case is investigated under Section 14(a) of the Sexual Offences Against Children Act 2017," Wan Azlan said in a statement today.

The complainant alleged that he was subjected to physical sexual assault by the suspect between June and July this year, in a room inside a church in Bandar Bukit Puchong, Selangor.

"We urge the public not to get involved in activities that go against the law.

"If you have information regarding any criminal activity, please contact your nearest police stations," Wan Azlan said.
