Police summon PAS' Razman for questioning

Police have summoned Perak PAS chief Razman Zakaria for questioning over a recent demonstration at Dataran Menara Condong in Teluk Intan on Saturday.

According to the PAS leader's office, the Gunong Semanggol assemblyperson is expected to arrive at the Dang Wangi police station at 5.45pm today.

District police chief Sulizmie Affendy confirmed the matter to Malaysiakini.

“(He is) to record a statement on the Teluk Intan case,” he briefly said.

Previously, it was reported that the police were investigating the rally organised by the opposition and the coalition of Teluk Intan NGOs for allegedly failing to notify the authorities before holding the demonstration.

Perak police chief Azizi Mat Aris said the case is being investigated under Section 9(1) of the Peaceful Assembly Act 2012.

The Oct 26 rally was organised in response to the waving of the Chinese flag during the International Guan Gong Culture Festival, which took place at the same location on Thursday.
