Amanah secretary-general Faiz Fadzil confirmed to Malaysiakini that all 109 individuals were linked to the PKR polls, with 58 having officially joined the party and even contested in its ongoing leadership polls.
The remaining 51 are under investigation for their alleged participation.
“Their failure to respond to these letters may also result in expulsion,” he said, referring to the 51 members.
“The reasons for the show-cause letters vary, but most (are related to involvement in the) PKR election,” he said when contacted.

In a statement following the disciplinary action, Faiz issued a stern reminder to Amanah members to uphold organisational discipline in line with the party’s constitution and code of conduct.
‘Let’s not interfere’
Last week, Faiz had advised party members not to interfere in PKR’s affairs, particularly by expressing support for any candidate.
While not naming any Amanah leaders explicitly, he is believed to be referring to communications director Khalid Samad, who spoke about PKR’s election on KiniTV’s “Explain Sikit!” podcast.
“Considering that this election platform is an internal PKR family matter, Amanah’s leadership and members at all levels should not interfere with this process.
“Therefore, all Amanah members must refrain from making any comments or expressing opinions on any media platform or forum regarding this election process, especially showing inclination towards any candidate, in order to maintain the long-established unity between Amanah-PKR,” Faiz said in a statement.
