• Pakatan Harapan communications director Fahmi Fadzil did not deny the possibility of infighting within Perikatan Nasional eventually playing in Harapan’s favour.

When asked whether PAS’ move to not aid Bersatu’s campaign in Johor could prove an advantage for Harapan during the state election, Fahmi briefly said: “Maybe.”

Addressing reporters in Muar today, he added that Harapan would rather focus on its strengths instead of getting involved with other parties’ issues.

• Over in Tanjung Surat, Harapan has lodged a police report over a flag of theirs being burnt.

Harapan candidate Faizul Abdul Ghani said in a statement that the burnt flag was spotted at around 2am near the entrance to Felda Gugusan. He decried the attack and called for more mature politics.

Harapan previously had limited support in Tanjung Surat - managing to only bag 11.3 percent of votes when constituents cast their ballots at the Parliament level in November 2022.
