• Bersatu’s two-term Bukit Kepong incumbent Sahruddin Jamal is confident that PAS supporters in the state seat will still vote for him come July 11, despite the fractured ties between the two parties.

  Speaking to reporters today, Sahruddin (above) said Johor PAS chief Mahfodz Mohamed is from the same village as him, and that overall ties between Bersatu and PAS in Pagoh remain strong.

  “God willing, I am confident friends from PAS will vote for Bersatu,” the former menteri besar told reporters today.

• Muda candidate for Simpang Jeram, Ainie Haziqah Shafiee, will be holding a pro bono legal clinic in the constituency, which will start on Monday and be carried out throughout the campaign period.

  This is after she met multiple constituents complaining that they were facing various legal issues, including becoming victims of fraud and scams.

  

  “Legal advice should never be a privilege reserved only for those who can afford it. Everyone deserves to understand their rights and have access to justice, regardless of their financial circumstances,” Ainie - who is a lawyer by training - said in a statement today.
