Perlis Menteri Besar Abu Bakar Hazmah has confirmed his resignation from the Bersatu supreme council leadership line-up, saying he would now be giving his full focus to state governance and development matters.

In a press conference today, he said he decided to quit because he has been unable to attend the council meetings on several occasions.
