Second post-mortem tomorrow
A second post-mortem autopsy on deceased police detainee A Kugan will be conducted tomorrow to determine his cause of death.
A second post-mortem autopsy on deceased police detainee A Kugan will be conducted tomorrow to determine his cause of death.
Universiti Malaya Medical Centre doctors will conduct the procedure on Sunday at 9am and preliminary findings are expected within eight to 10 hours, said Gobind singh Deo, who is acting for Kugan’s family.
Kugan’s family was only given the green light for the post-mortem today by the Subang district police, two days after the family had called off his funeral.
The family is seeking a second post-mortem because they believe foul play was involved in his death.
Earlier, Gobind, together with several Pakatan Rakyat MPs and lawyer N Surendran had a meeting with Subang Jaya OCPD to appeal for a second post-mortem.
According to Gobind, the Subang police appeared oblivious to the fact that Bukit Aman had already given the green light.
"It was a disappointing sequence of events. One ought to think that there would be proper communication between Bukit Aman and district police," he said when contacted.
