The RM300m MySejahtera deal
More details have emerged over the status of the MySejahtera app, including the fact that its original developers Entomo Malaysia Sdn Bhd (formerly known as KPISoft (M) Sdn Bhd) had sold the licence of the app to MySJ Sdn Bhd for RM338.6 million.
This raised concerns that Malaysian taxpayers will have to foot the amount if the government were to take it over, including the modules that were developed after the year-long free period Entomo had offered the government.
Health Minister Khairy Jamaluddin assured that the amount the government is negotiating with MySJ is "much, much lower" adding that seeking another vendor is an option if a deal cannot be struck.
Amid the funding spotlight, a man expressed anger at being arrested in June last year when he questioned the funding for the MySejahtera app. The man said his concerns have now come true.
The Public Accounts Committee (PAC) report has also revealed the dealings between the government and the MySejahtera developer, including the absence of a contract.

Cold war in PKR
PKR, which saw the party ripped in half during the Sheraton Move when its then deputy president Azmin Ali led an exodus in 2020, is seeing internal tension again.
Potential candidates have publicly criticised each other ahead of the party polls.
PKR communications director Fahmi Fadzil acknowledged that the party could see a "cold war" in the run-up to the party polls in May.
However, he assured measures have been taken to ensure that it does not lead to another split.
He added that PKR president Anwar Ibrahim has reminded all those involved to maintain party discipline.

Muar mega reclamation
Muar MP Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman criticised the Department of Environment (DOE) after the environmental impact assessment (EIA) on a royalty-linked reclamation project off the coast of Muar went missing from its website.
A check of the DOE's website showed the link to the EIA report is crossed out and inaccessible to the public.
Malaysiakini previously reported, based on the EIA report, that the Maharani Energy Gateway seeks to reclaim an area of about 1,295 hectares, a quarter the size of Putrajaya, off the Muar coast which will impact over 1,000 fisherfolk.
Johor ruler Sultan Ibrahim Sultan Ismail has a 38.5 percent effective stake in the proposed project.
