The driver accused of killing eight teen cyclists in 2017 was convicted by the Johor Bahru High Court.
Sam Ke Ting had previously been acquitted twice at the magistrate level - first without entering a defence, and the second time after the High Court ordered her to enter a defence.
The magistrate had ruled that Sam, then 22, had driven responsibly, and could not foresee that there would be a group of cyclists playing on a dark winding road at 3am in the morning.
However, the High Court judge ruled that Sam had driven recklessly and that the defence failed to prove reasonable doubt.
The 27-year-old will have one more chance to appeal her case at the Court of Appeal.
But pending that, she has been sent to jail for six years and fined RM6,000 after the High Court rejected a stay of execution pending leave for appeal.

Govt settles with Apandi over axing
The Umno-led government has made a settlement with Mohamed Apandi Ali over a legal challenge of his sacking as attorney-general (AG) when Pakatan Harapan was in power.
The terms of the settlement are confidential, but the government did not admit to liability in making the settlement.
Apandi - who rejoined Umno about a month after he was removed as the AG in June 2018 - claimed his termination was unlawful.
Critics have accused the former AG of helping to cover up the 1MDB scandal, famously declaring that there was no case against former prime minister Najib Abdul Razak in both the SRC and 1MDB cases.
Najib has since been convicted by the High Court and Appellate Court over the SRC case and is still on trial for the 1MDB case.

Minimum wage for domestic workers
The Human Resources Ministry confirmed that Indonesian domestic workers will earn at least the minimum wage.
The minimum wage is set to be raised to RM1,500 after May 1.
Malaysiakini previously detailed, that under a government memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Indonesia, domestic workers will also have guaranteed days off, rest periods, and medical care.
Further, domestic workers will also have more limited job scopes, with those taking caregiver roles, for example, not required to also cook and clean.
Critics of the new arrangements have warned that employers may seek domestic workers from other countries to get around the requirements set by Indonesia.
Meanwhile, Human Resources Minister M Saravanan said the RM7,000 minimum household income threshold for prospective Malaysian employers, can be revised.
