'Lim dynasty' wanes
The existence of the so-called "Lim dynasty" in DAP may be in dispute, but the outcome of Sunday's party election shows that the family's influence over DAP is waning.
In the race for the 30-member Central Executive Committee (CEC), Lim Guan Eng came in at number 26, while his sister Hui Ying failed to make the cut at number 31.
Guan Eng was also not re-elected as DAP chairperson after just one term, and was replaced by Gobind Singh Deo - who bagged the most votes in the CEC election.
Guan Eng was instead appointed as DAP adviser.
Meanwhile, several MPs also failed to get elected to the CEC, including Teresa Kok, Lim Lip Eng, and RSN Rayer.
