Fong Po Kuan is a law graduate from the International Islamic University and is serving her second consecutive term as MP for Batu Gajah. Rentakini investigates the lighter side of this feisty parliamentarian that has earned several monikers including "Cili padi" and "Giant Slayer" in a short but illustrious political career.

I love chocolates and I suppose I'm too lazy to exercise. I would try to park my car near the shops to reduce the walking distance.

Has any of your constituents proposed to you?

Nope.

You have been dubbed the 'Hottest MP', how do you respond to that?

Maybe its because I'm female, my young age and the way I deliver my speeches (in parliament). Thus there is a tendency for BN MP's to interrupt my speech.

Last night, Gerakan president celebrated his party election victory by belting out Teresa Teng's Yue Liang Dai Biao Wo De Xin . If it was you, what song would you be singing?

I only know how to sing is Tian Mi Mi (Teresa Teng) and Xiao Wei (Ah Di's Band).

If you were given RM1 million, and you were to use it for non-political purposes, what would it be?

I would use the RM1 million for activities or programmes to educate or provide skills for children in rural areas. I love children and I like playing with them very much. I can see this is something lacking in villages.

What's the food like in the Parliament's canteen?

( Deep in thought for ten seconds )... Edible.

Where would you recommend Malaysiakini readers to go clubbing?

I hardly frequent these places therefore I am not up-to-date about such places to recommend to others.

Do you have a boyfriend?

What do you look for in a man?

Honesty.

Favourite cologne?

Nothing in particular, however I might have a good first impression with a man that puts on cologne.

Heroes in real life

The person whom I respect the most is my father. He has taught me a lot.

He says that the good things that one has, a good portion of it should be given to others. We should not expect anything when helping others. When we lend money to people, we must be prepared that they may not return it.

Another important lesson is that what we enjoy presently, is because of the contributions of our parents and previous generations. If I want good for the next generation, I should do good at this moment.

What would you see yourself doing if you are not involved in politics?

Being a practising lawyer.

Describe your first car

It's the Proton Wira that I'm driving now. I bought it in 2001.

Hobbies?

Badminton.

Television?

I only watch if I have the time. The programme I'm following closely is The Apprentice.

Would you want to be on the programme?

Yes. There are just so many challenging aspects within the programme - putting a person to work under pressure, living together with other teammates and proving yourself to be a leader, how does one cooperate with the team to ensure that project's success, and how one handles interpersonal relations with individuals from different background - I even wanted to suggest to the programme producers to take in applicants from all over the world.

When what I'm heading to or what I'm attending to is achieved.

Erm... I would say this is an unusual interview.
