In a signifcant move towards sustainable initiatives, Malaysia will host the grand opening of Econili Battery’s Integrated Critical Metals Recovery Plant alongside the Malaysia International Lithium-Ion Battery Recycling Summit on May 26th and 27th, 2024. This event marks the debut of Econili Battery, playing a key role in environmental stewardship through technological innovation. EcoNiLi is set to establish its primary global operation from this new recovery facility in Perak, further bolstering Malaysia's drive to lead in economic and climate-related sustainability.

Advocating for Malaysia’s involvement in the OECD reflects Econili’s commitment to global best practices. Strengthening partnerships with international players will not only facilitate mutual growth but also foster innovation on a global scale. By strategically positioning Malaysia as a leader in sustainable technologies, Econili aims to elevate the Malaysia’s battery recycling status within the ASEAN region.

In a landscape marred by illicit activities and environmental concerns, the Econili recovery facility stands out as a model of corporate sustainability. With its commitment to regulatory compliance, environmental responsibility, and economic contribution, Econili will set the standard for ethical business practices in the lithium-ion battery recycling industry. By championing transparency, Econili not only safeguards the environment and economy but also inspires confidence in the global marketplace, paving the way for a brighter, greener future.

• Advanced Facilty

Econili's advanced facility, spanning 25.299 square meters on a 3-acre expanse in Perak, is poised to revolutionize lithium-ion battery recycling in Malaysia. With a capacity of nearly 24,000 metric tons per year, Econili's plant will play a pivotal role in attracting investments into battery manufacturing in Malaysia, and in reducing battery waste and promoting a circular economy. The integration of hydrometallurgical processes will enable the extraction of valuable materials in the lithium-ion battery supply chain, such as lithium carbonate and metal hyrdorixde precipitate (MHP) from 12,000 tons of “Black Mass” materials annually.

• A Beacon of Innovation

This grand opening event is not merely a ceremonial affair but a testament to Malaysia's commitment to sustainability and innovation. VIP state dignitaries will be in attendance, underscoring the importance of Econili's initiative in the national agenda. The Malaysia International Lithium-Ion Battery Recycling Summit will serve as a platform for industry leaders, policymakers, and stakeholders to exchange ideas and drive forward the green agenda.

Econili's foray into critical metals recovery is not just about environmental conservation; it is also about enhancing economic growth and prospects. By tapping into the burgeoning green technology sector, Malaysia stands to create new jobs, attract investments, and position itself as a hub for sustainable innovation. Econili’s presence in Perak will catalyze local development while contributing to Malaysia’s global standing in the green economy.

According to Jayden Goh, CEO of Econili Battery, “Our vision goes beyond mere ciritcal metals recovery; it is about redefining our relationship with technology and the environment. With our advanced facility in Perak, we aim to set new standards in lithium-ion battery recycling in the ASEAN region while driving economic growth and fostering innovation. This grand opening is a testament to our commitment to a greener, more prosperous future for Malaysia and beyond."

As Malaysia prepares to welcome Econili's grand opening and the Malaysia International Lithium-Ion Battery Recycling Summit, the nation stands on the cusp of a green revolution.
