I refer to the letter Muslims should reform now before... by Tan Sri Dato Mohd Sheriff Kassim. I agree that there is a lack of democracy in the Muslim world.

But who is to blame? The Muslims themselves or the foreign Western powers that pick and choose the leaders and force them upon the Muslim populations?

Would the West accept democratically-elected leaders in Muslim countries if these leaders were not subservient? It has been said that if there were elections in Saudi Arabia, Osama bin Laden would win with a majority.

Would the West accept Osama? Also, Yasser Arafat was a democratically-elected president but did that improve the Palestinian cause? No, it didn't.
