When the controversial writer Mohamad Sayuti Omar (MSO) wrote the book Tiga Abdul , he had the very obvious motive of discrediting PAS leaders Abdul Halim, Wan Abdul Rahim and Abdul Fatah Harun while trying to destroy PAS in Kelantan.

The subsequent removal of these 'tiga Abdul' from Kelantan has created a vacuum in PAS Kelantan allowing certain raising stars in the state exco to monopolise the state's executive power. Such a trend could easily lead to absolute corruption as there will be a lack of checks and balances on the authority entrusted on these individuals.

Among them are none other than Husam Musa whom has been practicing the individualistic politics with no respect for consensus from the Kelantan state exco and the Dewan Harian PAS Kelantan.

Husam is a 'lone ranger' who is attempting to gain political mileage through his copied style of economic reformation to achieve his political utopia. In his newfound power and fame, he has no respect for the old guard who helped to build up Kelantan PAS.

Ramli Musa (whom had been invested in to groom Husam's political career) will probably be the best rewarded political rent-seeker by Husam. He was installed as the chairman of the Kompleks Perkayuan Kelantan (KPK).

Market intelligence indicates that a possible future management buyout of KPK could see the multi-billion state-owned company falling into the hands of political rent-seekers lead by Ramli Musa.

Husam should not hold the Kelantan people ransom for his political advancement. His people are on the verge of losing the state most valuable assets to corporate schemers who will eventually sell them - including the KPK - to other politically-linked listed vehicles.

There is also speculation that the Kelantan State Economic Development Corporation's (SEDC) Sungai Terah Plantation may fall into the hands political rent-seekers linked to Ramli Musa. An independent nomination to the Sungai Terah chairmanship was rejected by Husam during the state committee meetings.

It is also understood that prior to the 2004 general election, about 3,500 acres of rubber plantations owned by Sungai Terah had gone into the pockets of certain individuals without proper due diligence practices.

And one must not forget the mining group with a RM2 paid-up capital which has been rewarded with 31,000 of land in Sokor again without any due diligence. This mining concern completely bypassed the SEDC and other relevant state agencies for the mining rights at Sokor.

This will cost the Kelantan treasury a hefty RM6.82 million in earnest monies payable for exploration rights.

No one would believe that the mining group owners would earn a free lunch by just paying for the Kelantan state government delegation's 'investment trip' to Beijing in November last year.

Money politics in PAS is getting worse than Umno's. And meanwhile, the Kelantan people are only left with prayer and their faith. Their only hope is the Sultan Adil who would grace himself to reform the current corrupted system in Kota Darul Naim.
